Used Dyna-Ski?

As long as I have been building Dyna-Ski Boats I have been getting calls for used Dyna-Ski Boats and Hydrodyne Boats.  People must think we have a secret process to somehow build used boats or that people trade in old Dyna-Ski Boats to us.  We don't and they don't.  Often the rare used Dyna-Ski Boat remains in the family or is sold to a neighbor.

WARNING: Any boats used by ski teams tend to be more abused than used.

Hydrodyne last built a couple outboards in 1993. This means any Hydrodyne outboard boats are at least 24 years old.  The old style bubble deck 18' Hydrodynes were last built in the early 1980's.  Recreational Dyna-Ski Boats do hold their value well.  Our prices along with motor and trailer prices go up every year. The amount everything goes up exceeds the interest rates that banks charge so if you want a Dyna-Ski Boat why wait?

Over many years I have helped sell two used Open Bow Dyna-Ski Boats when the owners contacted me and told me they wanted to sell their boats. They were fairly quick sales.  I have also bought and sold a couple outboard Hydrodyne boats.  I currently have a 1990 17.6 XB (closed bow) that I am redoing.

 1989 Hydrodyne 17.6 XB with a 150 Evinrude
Bought and resold as a favor to the former owner.
Sold to a close family friend and it sits on a boat lift at my house.

1990 Hydrodyne 17.6 XB available later this summer
This boat had a tired old Evinrude 115 motor when I purchased it. The motor did run before it was removed. It was on a trailer that did not allow for a tracking fin.

What has been done so far:
All the little nicks and holes put in the boat for snap on covers, rod holders, additional cleats, spot light, pitot tube speedometers, etc. have been repaired by our boat building shop.
New Floor
New Carpet
New Rub Rail
New Fin
Painted White
What is being done:
New motor rigging including: Teleflex Hydraulic steering, Evinrude GPS Speedometer, ICON Engine Monitoring, controls, cables, wiring, gauges, Hydrodyne dash panel, Hydrodyne mirror, horn, bilge pump and a new 150 Evinrude motor.  Boat can be purchased with or without this engine or with another new one. You can provide your own engine. I will not remove or sell the boat without the Evinrude rigging, etc.
What I have yet to decide:
The interior pictured here is well used.

Interior for 1990 Hydrodyne 17.6 XB
Putting a new interior can be expensive.  Depending upon the intended use a new interior could be a simple pair of front seats or a full blown interior with wrap around seating.  The buyer can decide. For the time being I am going to put the front seats back into the boat once it is water ready in a couple weeks.

If you want me to help sell your Dyna-Ski or Hydrodyne Outboard I can as I get calls for these often.

I am pretty picky about what I will buy or take as a trade. I will consign used outboards but only if the seller is realistic. I don't get calls for inboards!  I have said thousands of times that redoing old boats is expensive.  We still redo and repair older Hydrodyne and other fiberglass boats.  We do high quality work and it is not cheap.  If you want a quick fix go to an automobile body shop but remember that you don't always get what you expect or pay for as they fix vehicles not boats usually and boats have different stresses than motor vehicles on a smooth road do.

I have a couple beater or test boats around and almost everything is for sale!
